Some history
We have a love-hate relationship with slideshows.
We've made hundreds — perhaps thousands — of slideshows for school and work. (And yes, even for fun!) But lately, we've found ourselves increasingly bored of the medium and wanting to do more.
Our gripe? They're unfortunately just not cool anymore.
While old-school presentation software works well enough for simple flat animations, the output comes nowhere near the output of 3D graphics software or pre-rendered videos.
We want to combine the visual impact and illustrative power of 3D VFX videos with the ease of use of slideshow apps.
And we want to make it possible for anyone to produce a professional 3D presentation, regardless of your experience with art or motion graphics.
That meant inventing a new story-telling paradigm — a mapping from slideshow to Spacewalk that felt familiar yet powerful.
And it meant building a platform where you can share your creations with the world, so we can all take inspiration from each other in thinking outside the slide.

Today, we're excited to begin sharing Spacewalk with the public!
There is so much more that we still want to do, but the time is right to start building in the open.
